How to hold office hours with Elon Musk in ChatGPT, Claude or any AI
Copy one prompt or add one connector, and an AI persona of Elon Musk asks you six hard questions about your plan, one at a time.
Most people use AI the same way: they ask a question and get an answer. An office hour runs the other way round. A hero asks you the questions, one at a time, pushes back when an answer is vague, and ends with one thing to do by Friday.
Heropedia's Elon Musk persona is built for exactly that. It is an AI persona based on Musk's public interviews and the books written about him, with every fact tied to a source. It is not Elon Musk, and he has nothing to do with Heropedia.
Start in under a minute
Pick whichever AI you already use:
- ChatGPT, Gemini or any chat window. Open the Elon Musk page, press Copy the Musk office-hour prompt, paste it into a new chat and send. The persona is inside the prompt, so there is nothing to install.
- Claude. Add Heropedia once as a custom connector with the URL
https://www.heropedia.org/mcp(Settings, then Connectors). After that, say "Hold office hours with Elon Musk on my pricing" in any chat. The setup guide walks through each step. - Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI. Install the office-hour skill with the command on the hero page, then say "Office hour with Elon Musk on my onboarding." Your notes stay on your machine.
The six questions he will ask
The persona works through six questions. Have rough answers ready and the session goes much faster.
- What is the requirement you are working to, and who exactly set it? "The customer" or "legal" is not a name. He wants a person and their reason.
- What will you delete from the product or the process this week, and what breaks if you are wrong? Name a step, feature, meeting or approval, not something cosmetic.
- What is the physical or economic limit here, and how far are you from it? Two numbers side by side: the theoretical floor and today's actual figure. Competitors are not the benchmark.
- Which number tells you whether this is working, in what unit, and what is it today? One metric, a current value and a dated target.
- How long does it take from deciding to change something to seeing the result, and what would halve that time?
- What would have to be true for this to work at ten times today's scale? He is looking for the single bottleneck that breaks first, with a number.
These follow the order of the five-step process documented in the persona's sources: question every requirement, delete, simplify and optimize, accelerate cycle time, and only then automate.
How to get a useful session
- Bring one real problem. "My onboarding loses half of signups at step 4" works far better than "review my startup".
- Answer with numbers. The persona is written to push back on adjectives such as "faster" or "better" until you give it a unit and a value.
- Push back once. When it names what it thinks your real problem is, argue. The diagnosis gets sharper.
- Write down the Friday action. Every session ends with one specific thing to do this week and the way you are most likely to fool yourself. That line is the point of the exercise.
Try other heroes on the same problem
The same problem looks different through different eyes. Run it past Steve Jobs for product focus, or Jensen Huang for the "speed of light" of your process. Every hero page has the same three ways to start.
